Georgia will receive increased funding through ARRA to provide assistance to Georgians impacted by the economic downturn, especially the unemployed. ARRA funds have been made available to drive workforce development throughout the state. In addition to Unemployment Insurance benefits, the Workforce Investment Act will enhance service to individuals who are unemployed and underemployed.

Workforce Help Wagner-Peyser - This grant award is funded in accordance with the Wagner-Peyser Act, which provides for employment and reemployment services to connect the unemployed to training opportunities that will facilitate their reentry into the workforce.  More Information

Unemployment Insurance - This Non-1512 grant award provides unemployment insurance for eligible workers through Federal and State cooperation; to administer payment of trade adjustment assistance, alternative trade adjustment assistance, disaster unemployment assistance, unemployment compensation for Federal employees and ex-service members.

State Grants - VR, BEP, EWSIR - The Vocational Rehabilitation State Grants Program under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, amended by ARRA, provides grants to states to help individuals with disabilities to prepare for, obtain, and maintain employment. More Information

Independent Living Older - Blind - This grant award will provide independent living services to individuals aged 55 or older who are blind, whose severe visual impairments make competitive employment extremely difficult to obtain, but for whom independent living goals are feasible.  More Information
